GLOBE Observer Connect December 2024
For the Davis family, Dixie National Forest in southern Utah is a family affair. In 1997, college students Jeff and Jackie Davis were employed to support a scenery management study in the forest. Nearly 30 years later, their daughter Callie, returned to the forest as an intern to recreate the photographs her parents took, this time using GLOBE Observer Land Cover.
How did the forest change between 1997 and 2024? How was it the same? In our GLOBE Observer Connect conversation on 12 December 2024, we chatted with Callie, Jackie, and Jeff Davis, as well as Nancy Brunswick, the original architect of the project, to answer those and other questions. Read about Callie's experience in the blog, "Tracking Change in Dixie National Forest," or watch the recording below.
