Trees Around the GLOBE Webinar: Comparisons Between Ground- and Space-Based Data

Date: 06/17/2025 - 06/17/2025
Time: 1:00 pm EDT - 2:30 pm EDT
Location: virtual

The State of Trees – June 2025. Highlighting Tree and Land Cover Across GLOBE and NASA through Ground-Based Observations and Space-Based Data Comparisons with a Trees Around the GLOBE Community Opportunity.

Join us as we take a look at examples of tree height and land cover observations from across GLOBE and NASA and how comparing the data allows for us to better understand local to global environmental conditions and impacts. Included will be a Trees Around the GLOBE community opportunity to observe and collect data with the Adopt-A-Pixel 3km research framework, a STEM Enhancement in Earth Sciences (SEES) and NASA Earth Science Education Collaborative method of data collecting and analysis. From comparing and analyzing student data to building a robust data base of ground-based and space-based observations to benefit students and professional researchers around the world, this webinar will highlight the next step in data analysis, how it makes sense in the real world.
