My job encompasses teaching, research, and administration services at the University of Vermont.

 

How do you use GLOBE Observer?

I use GLOBE Observer to label land cover images to train machine learning algorithms.

 

How do you plan on using GLOBE Observer in the future?

I plan to utilize GLOBE Observer for – pending proposal funding – to label GLOBE Observer Clouds images and use them to train machine learning algorithms, and construct an annotated searchable database.

 

Why is citizen science important to you?

Citizen science is significant because of its practical impact to the society, and opportunities it brings to work with students on developing or using citizen science websites.

 

What advice do you have for people just getting into citizen science?

Get involved with the community! (Ex: @DoNASAScience)

 

What do you like to do for fun?

I like hiking and texting with family and friends.
