NASA GLOBE Observer’s Weekly Roundup: September 23-29 2018

A plateau in Colorado.

Our Land Challenge is finishing up and more in this week's edition of the roundup.

1. LAND CHALLENGE: There are just a few days remaining in our Land Challenge -- ends October 1st (NASA's 60th anniversary). All participants will receive a virtual badge if they make an observation between now and October 1st.  The top 10 observers will receive a digital certificate and be recognized by name by a NASA scientist on GLOBE Observer social media.

2. REDDIT: We are going to be on Reddit this Friday (9/28/18)! Tune in at 9 a.m. and up until 11 a.m. PDT and get ready to ask us anything!

3. RE-WATCH: Did you watch our Facebook Live and Snapchat/Instagram/Facebook story on the NASA accounts?  You can watch them for the first time or view them again in the links below.  (We talked about the new Land Cover feature within the GLOBE Observer app at the base of Mt. Hood in Oregon with land scientist Peder Nelson.

4. PROFILE: If you did not watch our Facebook Live yet, you may not have met the GLOBE Observer's Land Cover tool lead scientist Peder Nelson. Peder works out of Oregon State University.  He says:

"The beauty of maps and the way humans have shared knowledge through space and time inspires me. We know so much today because of what others have done, recorded, and shared with us."

Learn all about him in his profile on the site (see link below).

5. WEEKLY VIDEO: Here is a bit of a twist on our weekly clouds video. This week check out images of the land from all around the world.  Thank you all for your participation so far!
