Mark September 22, 2018 on your calendar and make plans to head to your favorite outdoor spot to make some Land Cover observations with the NASA GLOBE Observer app to celebrate the 25th annual National Public Lands Day. 

National Public Lands Day also marks the start of The NASA GO Land Challenge. 

GLOBE Observer is challenging citizen scientists to map as much land as possible between Sept. 22, Public Lands Day, and Oct. 1, NASA’s 60th anniversary. The 10 citizen scientists who map the most land in this period will be recognized on social media and will receive a certificate of appreciation from GLOBE Observer.
