Moon Trees and You: From Apollo to Artemis with GLOBE Observer Trees
As part of Digital Learning Week, come check out this collaborative talk with the Artemis Moon Trees Activity and The GLOBE Program’s GLOBE Observer app. Learn about the relationship between the Apollo 14 Moon Trees (1971), the NASA Artemis Mission, and the GLOBE Program’s Tree tool. Learn about several NASA missions like Artemis, ICESat-2 and GEDI and check out some really cool tree activities. Be one of the first to hear about an upcoming data observations challenge related to moon trees and tree height. Presenters are Brian Campbell, Senior Earth Science Specialist at NASA Wallops Flight Facility and science lead for the GLOBE Observer Trees tool and Kelly McCarthy, co-lead for the NASA Next Gen STEM Earth Mission Focus with NASA's Office of STEM Engagement. NASA’s Science Activation Program invites learners of all ages, including students and educators, to join our Digital Learning Week Celebration. This virtual, interactive event takes place May 8-12 and is open 24 hours, with live programming happening daily from 11 a.m. EDT to 7 p.m. EST.

Created for educators, by educators, Digital Learning Week curates a collection of ready-to-use resources, interactives, live and on-demand programming, and professional learning opportunities to support daily planning and provide connections to NASA.
Educators and the public can learn about minds-on activities for students, ready-to-use standards-aligned resources, and participate in 25 live, interactive events designed to give viewers direct access to NASA subject matter experts and showcase the wonders of NASA science. Take a grand tour of the universe, discover career pathways to NASA, ask questions of subject matter experts from current NASA space science missions, and more – right from your web browser. Digital Learning Week virtual events are created with classrooms in mind and offer opportunities for students and lifelong learners that enjoy engaging and educational programming related to NASA science to directly connect with subject matter experts.
