Eclipse 2019 in South America

Date: 07/02/2019 - 07/02/2019

The Eclipse tool will be available in the GLOBE Observer app for observers of the total solar eclipse in GLOBE countries in South America on July 2nd, 2019. The path of totality crosses Chile and Argentina, while a partial eclipse will be visible in Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Panama, Costa Rica and parts of Colombia and Brazil. The diagram below shows the full path, and you can also check out this interactive map that will give you the start and end times for the eclipse for a particular location, as well as how much of the Sun will be obscured. Watch the GLOBE Observer website for more details about upcoming events and how to collect data, but in the meantime, take a look at information about the last eclipse, in the U.S. in 2017.
