Project Description and Impact:

Use the GLOBE Observer app to document potential mosquito habitats and identify larvae in your yard and common areas. You can also set and monitor mosquito breeding traps to determine the distribution, population density, and mosquito species in your neighborhood. By eliminating potential breeding sites and using mosquito traps, you can help to mitigate mosquito populations in GHI.

Join the Mosquito Observers of Greenbelt (MOOG) team and add #MOOG to your GLOBE Observer observations.

To find out how to obtain and use a mosquito trap, contact Peter May at GHI or attend the Greenbelt Homes Stormwater Management Subcommittee meetings.

While mosquito larvae are harmless, biting adults may be present. Protect yourself from mosquito bites by wearing long sleeves and using insect repellant.
